ghosts of tissue

Goodnight to a fast and furious week. I printed on the last sheet of paper that was loaded in the ol' Canon iP3500 and that is how it will sit all weekend.
I have cleared a good number of the papers from my aircraft carrier of a desk. She is 42" by 84" without the slide-outs (you know, those boards that slide out like a drawer for when your desk is stacked but you still need to have a surface to sign something on). That makes 24.5 square feet of horizontal space. Most nights I sleep in less space. This does not include the return my computer sits on or the little table that my printer sits on.
My spacious desk has fostered some bad habits that I am working to overcome this spring. Right now, instread of having random papers strewn around the desk, I have most of those papers tamed into manilla folders. Over fifty folders I bet. The are stacked in five piles.
I have been thinking about adding a different lighting option to my office. I sit beneath four four-tube fluorescent lights. In addition they are of the four foot variety. That is almost disturbing. Anyway, it is a bright space with beige toward-yellow-walls. I have two little desk lamps, but they do not offer much light. I need a couple of floor lamps to acheive the right feel for focus. But I'm not sure if it is appropriate for my position to need that much focus--at least not very often. There's no window. just a door. I sit where we used to stack boxes of toilet paper.
So, there it is. an immense desk, tons of light, no window, and ghosts of tissue.
I feel some desire to move things around, just to shake things up. I remember what I was a young teen how I wouldmove furniture around two or three times a year just to keep things interesting. I don't think that is unique at all. I think cleaning a lot of the old junk out will have the same net affect though.
I think that is enough, possibly too much.
